Chinese company UBTech has begun selling full-sized humanoid robots called Uworlad U1. These new products are intended for home use as companion robots. The series includes three versions. The basic U1 Lite costs 119,800 yuan (about $17,650), the U1 Pro model is priced at 169,800 yuan (around $25,000), and the flagship U1 Ultra goes for 990,000 yuan (approximately $145,800) for the male version and 880,000 yuan (about $129,600) for the female version.
The robots are built with human-like proportions: the male version stands 183 cm tall and weighs 42 kg, while the female version is 168 cm tall and weighs 35.2 kg.
Each robot has 88 movable joints, enabling it to perform a wide range of natural human movements. A two-legged bionic neck design is also used for more realistic motion.
According to the manufacturer, the U1 can hold a regular conversation, recognize where the user is looking, and display over 20 different emotions. The system’s response time is about 500 milliseconds, and the delay in synchronizing lip movement with speech is only 20 milliseconds.
The robot runs on a battery that provides two to four hours of autonomous operation, supports Wi-Fi connectivity, and uses a specialized language model for long-term emotional interaction with its owner.
The creators note that the U1 is not designed to handle household tasks like cleaning or cooking. Its main purpose is communication and accompanying the user.
To protect privacy, all interaction data is stored locally in encrypted form without being sent to cloud services. According to UBTech, the software platform uses an emotional model trained with technologies from Huawei Ascend.
Pre-sales started on June 2, and the first customers will receive their robots in mid-September. According to UBTech founder and CEO Zhou Jian, the number of orders for the U1 series has already exceeded 11,000. For comparison, the company sold 1,079 full-sized humanoid robots throughout all of 2025.
