
An athlete fell ill and lost consciousness during a training session, after which he was taken to the hospital, where he died several hours later.
South African rugby player Lukhobo Makhwedini, who played for the French club Béziers, passed away at the age of 20 after collapsing during a practice session. This was reported by L’Equipe.
According to the publication, on the morning of July 10, the player felt unwell during a training workout and lost consciousness. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died a few hours later.
“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of our young player Lukhobo (Bibo) Makhwedini,” the Béziers club stated in a release.
