In the United States, a 14-year-old boy named Andrew from Texas has been found three years after his mother took him away following a divorce from his father. The teenager and the woman were detained while attempting to cross the border into Mexico, as reported by the New York Post.
The child’s father, Juan Escobar, had legal custody of his son. Andrew was last seen in June 2023 in New Mexico, after which the boy and his mother, Miriam Felix, disappeared. The search efforts conducted by the family together with law enforcement failed to yield results for a long time.
Following the detention, the father stated that his son is in a severe emotional state, although he is physically healthy. According to the investigation, Andrew spent the past few years in Europe, where he lived in Austria, Albania, and Turkey.
Felix is now being prepared for extradition to Mexico. The circumstances of the boy’s life during the time he was missing remain unknown.
