In South Korea, a man is facing criminal charges for using smart glasses during a state-administered firefighter license exam. The incident occurred back in May. The suspect became the subject of a case under an article concerning violations of the law governing national professional qualifications.
The invigilator noticed unusual behavior after spotting a light reflection bouncing off the lenses of the glasses. The man confessed that he had developed a custom application on his own and wanted to test whether it could generate correct answers in a real testing environment.
In May 2026, two additional violators were detained in South Korea. Currently, Korean officials are working on establishing regulations for the use of such devices during exams.
