The French Football Federation (FFF) is growing concerned about the composition of Zinedine Zidane’s future coaching staff. The 54-year-old manager is set to take over the national team after Didier Deschamps, who will step down following the end of the 2026 World Cup.
“Zizou has already secured agreements from seven key specialists to join his staff. This is a close-knit group of trusted individuals who previously worked with him during his time in Madrid. In the long run, the entire coaching and administrative team could expand to over 25 people, with a plan to actively include women. This applies particularly to the analytics department,” reports RMC Sport.
Within the FFF, the number of staff members and the associated financial costs are raising significant concerns. In addition to Zidane’s team, the Federation is also busy organizing the farewell for Didier Deschamps.
Deschamps has been in charge of “Les Bleus” since 2012. During his tenure, he led the French national team to victories at the 2018 World Cup, the 2020/2021 Nations League, as well as silver medals at the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2016.
