According to journalists, a child was injured on Christmas Island while playing in a yard with other children. At one point, the boy picked up a stone, and a centipede emerged from underneath and bit him on the hand.
The child immediately felt a burning pain, and the bitten hand began to swell. His mother took him to the hospital; throughout the journey, the boy cried out in pain and had difficulty breathing.
Upon arrival at the medical facility, doctors administered anti‑allergic medications, immersed the hand in warm water, and placed the boy on an oxygen mask. After these interventions, the child’s condition improved.
