Unsolicited calls and messages, the sudden launching of apps, or the activation of camera and microphone indicators may signal a smartphone virus infection, according to cybersecurity specialist Marcel Dandamaev.
The expert advises paying particular attention to apps that request clearly unnecessary permissions. Malicious Android programs can disguise themselves as services such as banking apps. If you suspect an infection, it is best to change your passwords for banking and social media accounts using a different device.
You can back up important photos and videos, then perform a factory reset on the smartphone and reinstall only trusted apps. As a preventive measure, avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading apps from unreliable sources.
