NASA’s Artemis II mission is set to mark a significant milestone in space exploration. This crewed flight will take four astronauts on a 10-day voyage around the Moon — the first human presence in its vicinity since the early 1970s. The mission will also serve as the first crewed flight of NASA’s giant Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft. By testing these systems in a real-world scenario, Artemis II will lay the groundwork for subsequent crewed landings on the lunar surface. The return to lunar exploration represents a major step toward establishing a sustained human presence on the Moon and advancing preparations for future missions to Mars.
