Local managers have explained the reasons behind these restrictions.
In Istanbul, men unaccompanied by women are facing restrictions, as they are being denied entry to beaches and nightclubs. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The agency stated that most paid public beaches—including those on the Princes’ Islands—refuse entry to single men or groups of men unaccompanied by women. For instance, on Büyükada Island, only one venue admits men without female companions; however, the entrance fee is 900 Turkish liras (approximately 1,500 rubles).
A similar situation exists in nightclubs across Istanbul and other Turkish cities. There are no exceptions, even for foreign visitors. If a tourist has purchased an event ticket in advance, the money will be refunded, but entry to the venue will still be denied.
Officially, no such restrictions exist in the country; however, club managers cite a desire to maintain a gender balance and prevent harassment or conflicts.
