Google has announced Googlebook, a new category of laptops designed from the ground up to embed Gemini Intelligence deeply into the user experience. Unlike traditional Chromebooks, Googlebook merges elements of Android and ChromeOS (though the final OS name hasn’t been officially revealed yet — it was previously codenamed Aluminium OS). Key features include the Magic Pointer: by wiggling the cursor, Gemini provides contextual suggestions and helps complete tasks. Users can also create custom widgets by prompting Gemini to organize apps into a personalized dashboard. Additionally, the devices enable seamless file and app synchronization between the laptop and the user’s Android smartphone. Partners like Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo will produce the first models, with launches expected in autumn 2026.
