The Turkish women’s volleyball team defeated Italy in the European Championship final to win the tournament for the second consecutive time. The decisive match took place in Istanbul.
The match ended with a score of 3:2 (16:25, 25:22, 12:25, 25:21, 15:10).
This is the second title in the history of the Turkish team. The team also won the previous European Championship, defeating Serbia in the final in five sets in 2023.
Russia holds the record for most European Championship victories, with 19 titles. Russian national teams and clubs were suspended from international competitions in 2022, and the restrictions were lifted in July 2026.
