A series of deaths was recorded at the Burning Man festival in the US state of Nevada: three participants died over the course of a few days. The Los Angeles Times reported this on September 8.
“A man named Sampson Chombe died on Thursday after being found on the street during the festival and taken to a temporary hospital on the festival grounds,” the article states.
The following day, 51-year-old Armando Ramirez from Truckee, California, died while en route from the festival to a hospital in Reno. A day later, the body of 60-year-old Craig Mann was found in the trailer he shared with his partner.
The causes of death for all three participants have not yet been announced.
Burning Man takes place annually in the Nevada desert, approximately 190 km north of Reno. The first festival was held in 1986, and the event now draws tens of thousands of participants each year.
In 2025, the body of a Burning Man participant who died under unexplained circumstances was discovered at the festival. Loved ones later identified the victim on social media as Vadim Kruglov. Kruglov was an artist and the creator of a festival installation featuring a massive mirrored heart.
Friends of the deceased organized a fundraiser to transport his body back to Russia. They managed to raise nearly $16,000, exceeding the initial goal of $15,000.
Later, the deceased’s father, Igor Kruglov, asked US President Donald Trump to help investigate the crime. In a video message, he noted that the killing had taken place over a week ago, yet there were still no results from the investigation. According to the father, the case is being handled by a single local sheriff, while US federal authorities have not yet stepped in.
