A random vehicle check led to the dismissal of a 62-year-old official from the Kyoto Prefecture administration. Police discovered used women’s hygiene products on the passenger seat of his car, the Tokyo Reporter writes.
The man worked at the Nantan regional office. Local authorities determined that he had repeatedly sneaked into the women’s restroom when no one was around and taken discarded items.
The discovery was made in the vehicle at a shopping center parking lot in the neighboring Osaka Prefecture. Following this, the Kyoto administration launched an internal investigation.
The employee admitted to his actions. He explained that he would enter the women’s restroom while working overtime, waiting until the floor was empty.
The man was suspended from duty for three months for the violation. After the disciplinary action was announced, he voluntarily submitted his resignation.
