Aryna Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula in the US Open semifinals with a score of 7–5, 6–2. She extended her head-to-head lead over the American to 10–4.
This marks the ninth Grand Slam final of the Belarusian player’s career (with a 4–4 record) and her second of the season; in January, Sabalenka lost the Australian Open final to Elena Rybakina.
She will be playing in the tournament’s deciding match for the fourth time in her career. The world number one was a finalist in 2023 and claimed the title in 2024 and 2025. The last player to reach four consecutive finals at this tournament was Serena Williams, who did so between 2011 and 2014.
