Researchers from Insilico Medicine discovered a potential anti-aging effect in the experimental drug rentosertib. Initially developed to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, the drug was analyzed using six «aging clocks» — AI-based methods that assess biological age via molecular markers. After four weeks of therapy, some metrics showed a reduction in calculated biological age by up to six years in patients, while the placebo group showed no significant change. However, experts emphasize the results are preliminary: it’s unclear if the molecular changes translate to real-world health benefits or longer lifespan, and the study sample was small.
