Typhoon Dujuan has caused major disruptions to air travel in Japan. Strong winds and rain led to flight delays and cancellations at Haneda and Narita airports on September 21.
According to the online flight information boards at Haneda and Narita, at least 461 flights were cancelled due to the approaching typhoon. The highest number of cancellations occurred at Haneda, with over 280 domestic and approximately 60 international flights affected. At Narita, more than 100 flights—predominantly international—were cancelled.
“Some flights have been cancelled or delayed due to the typhoon. Transport disruptions are also being reported,” a statement from Narita’s press office said.
Administrations at both airports warned passengers of potential schedule changes and advised them to check with their airlines for the latest information.
