A horrific head-on car accident on the Trans-Canada Highway in Burnaby left two people dead and another in critical condition early this morning. According to the BC Highway Patrol, a vehicle was driving the wrong way on Highway 1 before smashing directly into oncoming traffic. Investigators strongly believe that alcohol impairment played a major factor in the crash. The driver responsible survived the impact and was immediately placed under arrest as prosecutors prepare formal criminal charges.
