A weekend recreational trip ended in tragedy on the Mississippi River as a major boating accident resulted in two fatalities. First responders were called to the Massey Marina area after reports that a single watercraft carrying three occupants struck a floating object at high speed. The severe impact ejected all three people into the open water. While a nearby civilian boat successfully pulled one survivor from the river, emergency teams later recovered the bodies of the two remaining male occupants. The Department of Natural Resources has launched an official probe into river safety protocols.
