The acquisition shifts Schneider Electric heavily toward recurring software revenue streams.
France’s engineering multinational Schneider Electric has finalized its biggest acquisition ever, purchasing US-based digital enterprise software group PTC for $22.6 billion. The all-cash deal explicitly integrates PTC’s highly specialized design and engineering data assets directly into Schneider’s growing industrial AI ecosystem. According to corporate statements, this strategic pivot expands their higher-growth, recurring software-as-a-service (SaaS) business models to roughly 24% of total group revenue.
