Exactly two years since its dramatic Hollywood unveiling, Tesla’s purpose-built Cybercab fleet has officially scaled past 300 active vehicles on public streets. According to recent Texas DMV data and corporate confirmations, the steering-wheel-free and pedal-less autonomous fleet grew a staggering eight-fold over the last 30 days alone. Currently conducting passenger rides inside a supervised geofenced area in Austin, these futuristic two-seater vehicles rely solely on Tesla’s camera-based Full Self-Driving (FSD) neural network architecture. Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla’s head of AI software, confirmed that following this successful production ramp, the automated ride-hailing network will expand to Dallas next, marking a major step toward camera-only scalable urban transport.
