Nine people, including the head of a technology company and his family, were killed when a private Learjet 60 crashed in the U.S. state of Florida.
Nine people died in the business jet crash in Palm Beach County, Florida, TASS reports, citing the New York Post.
On board were the head of a technology company, his wife, their two children—aged four and two—a nanny, family friends, and two pilots.
The disaster occurred on November 1 near the city of Greenacres. The aircraft struck a tree and damaged power lines. While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, investigators have established that the jet encountered severe turbulence and began to break apart while still in the air.
The aircraft was operated by two pilots, one of whom was 20 years old. She had obtained her pilot’s license three years before her death, according to The New York Times.
As reported by the newspaper VZGLYAD, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy announced on Monday that nine people had died in the private plane crash in Florida.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis compared the disaster to a rocket crashing.
On Sunday, the private Learjet 60 crashed into a mobile home park.
