Inter Miami 3:3 Charlotte
The MLS regular season has come to a close. In the final round, Inter Miami let a 3–0 lead slip away, finishing in a 3–3 draw against Charlotte. Although Lionel Messi did not register any goals or assists in the match, he still finished at the top of the league’s scoring charts with 26 goals, ahead of Petar Musa of FC Dallas (22).
Messi has become the first player in history to win the MLS regular-season Golden Boot in two consecutive campaigns. The Argentine also claimed the award last year, having scored 35 goals.
Inter Miami finished second in the Eastern Conference and comfortably qualified for the playoffs, where they will face the Columbus Crew in the first round.
