The Washington Capitals hockey players lost to the Dallas Stars in a National Hockey League (NHL) regular season game.
The contest, which took place in the US capital, concluded with the visitors winning by a score of 4-1 (1-0, 1-0, 2-1). For Dallas, goals were scored by Radek Faksa (4th minute), Sam Steel (23rd), Wyatt Johnston (54th), and Roope Hintz (60th). The lone goal for Washington was scored by Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin (58th).
Alexander Ovechkin spent 19 minutes and 43 seconds of ice time, registered two shots on net, blocked one attempt, and delivered one body check.
Dallas defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin made one shot on goal, executed two hits, and received a five-minute penalty for a fight with Capitals American forward Brandon Hagel.
Washington suffered its third defeat in the last four NHL championship outings. Dallas snapped a losing streak that had reached six matches.
