Matvey Safonov, the Russian goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain, has achieved a historic milestone as the first Russian player to feature in two Champions League finals. Following the match on May 6th between PSG and Germany’s Bayern Munich, the French side secured their spot in the tournament’s final stage.
The game concluded with a score of 1-1. Consequently, PSG triumphed over their rivals based on the aggregate score across both legs.
Ousmane Dembélé found the net first for the Parisian club in the 3rd minute. Bayern Munich’s goal came from Harry Kane in stoppage time at the end of the second half.
In the Champions League final, the French team will take on England’s Arsenal. The match for the championship title is scheduled for Saturday, May 30th, taking place in Budapest.
