A Swiss resident returning from a trip to Germany found herself with an unusually large amount of luggage, which drew the attention of border control officials. This is reported by Bild.
The incident occurred on May 31st at a border crossing near the municipality of Thayngen, where a car and a van traveling towards Switzerland were stopped. During an inspection, customs officers discovered 55 suitcases.
All suitcases were subjected to X-ray screening, and no irregularities were found as a result. Inside were the traveler’s personal belongings, which are permitted for import into the country.
According to the Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security, transporting such a quantity of luggage is not prohibited, provided the items were previously exported from the country and are being re-imported as personal property.
