In Alaska, relatives of a deceased local resident discovered human remains in a freezer while clearing out the home following his death, the Juneau Independent reports.
The locked outbuilding containing the freezer was opened during the cleanup process. Inside lay the body of an unidentified man. Police arriving at the scene estimated the deceased’s age to be between 50 and 80.
No external signs of gunshot or stab wounds were observed on the body. Law enforcement officials emphasized that a link to foul play has not yet been confirmed. Investigators are exploring various theories, including a possible familial relationship between the deceased and the homeowner.
