Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant achieved a significant milestone during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. He became the fastest batter in history to reach 100 sixes in Test cricket, accomplishing the feat in just 4,918 deliveries. This surpassed the previous record held by former Australia wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist (6,578 balls). Pant is only the fourth player overall to hit 100 sixes in Tests, joining an elite group with Gilchrist, Brendon McCullum, and Ben Stokes. The milestone came while Pant was scoring 66 off 69 balls, with eight fours and two sixes. Interestingly, his Test debut occurred exactly eight years prior on August 18, 2018, making this record a perfect eight-year anniversary.
