OpenAI has officially classified its upcoming Astra model as having «critical» cybersecurity capabilities within the company’s Preparedness Framework. This is a first for the company: Astra can autonomously identify unknown vulnerabilities and map out attack chains on protected systems. As a result, OpenAI has delayed part of the model’s development for several weeks to strengthen both its training safeguards and the security measures for its future deployment.
