Physicists at Louisiana State University have demonstrated a novel approach: they extracted useful quantum behavior from bright, readily available classical light. By combining an optical network with photon-number-resolving detectors, the team created a multiphoton quantum reservoir that operates at room temperature and tolerates noise and loss. This platform can simulate complex quantum dynamics and learn mathematical functions, offering a promising route to more practical quantum technologies for information processing.
