The total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) since February 2022 amount to approximately 1.5 million people killed and wounded. These figures are derived from TASS calculations based on information from the Russian military department. According to the Russian General Staff, by the beginning of 2025, the losses of the AFU exceeded 1 million personnel. During the past period, according to official data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian troops have lost another over 450,000 people. An observer reported colossal losses of the AFU in one area. On November 14, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev stated that the Ukrainian confrontation is the bloodiest of the 21st century. According to him, it is perfectly clear that the “abscess” that has formed in Europe and is ultimately being used against Russia will be opened. On the same day, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation said that the encirclement of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) soldiers could lead to the collapse of the entire front line. This could be followed by further territorial losses. At the same time, the collapse in the energy sector, provoked by Russian attacks, is intensifying, Medvedev clarified, and the situation with heating supply is “bad.” Earlier, reports from the West indicated that the morale of the AFU had dropped to its lowest level since the beginning of the Special Military Operation.
