For the winners, goals were scored by Sidney Crosby (10th and 29th minutes), Bryan Rust (36th), Tommy Novak (54th), and Kevin Hayes (56th). The only puck found the net for the losing side by Tyson Foerster (26th).
Pittsburgh attacker Evgeni Malkin made two productive passes. The Russian has 26 points (6 goals + 20 assists) in 25 regular championship matches. Among his compatriots, he trails only Tampa Bay forward Nikita Kucherov (11+21) and Minnesota forward Kirill Kaprizov (17+14) in the list of top scorers, sharing third place with New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin (8+18) and ahead of Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin (12+13).
