Paris Saint-Germain has clinched their 14th French championship title! This achievement was confirmed after the Parisians defeated Lens with a score of 2-0 in an away fixture that was part of the rescheduled Matchday 29 of Ligue 1. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored the decisive goal, while Matvey Safonov delivered an excellent performance guarding the PSG net, subsequently becoming a two-time champion of France!
PSG TOOK THE FIELD AGAINST LENS FEATURING LABUBU ON THEIR JERSEYS
The PSG players stepped onto the pitch against Lens, their minds focused not only on the title but also sporting an image of a children’s toy on their shirts. Adorning the backs of the Parisian club’s jerseys, next to the numbers, was a print of the collectible toy, Labubu. According to PSG’s press service, the presence of the sharp-toothed monster on the jerseys was intended to serve as a “link between football and contemporary creation,” aiming to bolster connections with supporters in Asia.
Lens is having a phenomenal season, holding second place in the league with 67 points. However, PSG, sitting atop with 76 points even with one round left in the Ligue 1 campaign, is proving to be an unstoppable force. In recent French championship matches, the Parisians have often introduced key starters only in the second halves, yet still managed to secure victories. Against Lens, Luis Enrique replicated this approach, although Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Matvey Safonov, and Ousmane Dembélé were among those who started the game and were instrumental in achieving the result.
