The Pittsburgh Penguins have been defeated by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second game of their National Hockey League (NHL) first-round playoff series.
The contest, held in Pittsburgh, concluded with the visiting team securing a victory by a score of 3-0 (periods: 0-0, 2-0, 1-0). The goals for the Flyers were tallied by Porter Marton (at the 34th minute), Garnet Hathaway (38th minute), and Luke Glendening (58th minute).
For the Russian contingent on the Pittsburgh roster, forward Evgeni Malkin registered two shots on goal and delivered one body check. Penguins forward Egor Chinakhov put three shots on target and executed one physical hit. On the Flyers’ side, forward Matvei Michkov recorded two shots on goal and had two blocked shots.
With this result, the series lead, which is a best-of-seven format, now stands at 2-0 in favor of the Flyers. The third game is scheduled to take place in Philadelphia early Thursday morning, according to Moscow time.
