
Representatives James Comer and Eric Swalwell have formally requested information from the Department of Energy, the Pentagon, the FBI, and NASA regarding peculiar deaths and disappearances among scientists linked to classified projects.
“The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is looking into recent unsubstantiated reports circulating publicly concerning the vanishing or demise of individuals who had clearance for sensitive scientific data. <…> We are requesting a briefing on any pertinent intelligence,” the document states.
According to the lawmakers, events of this nature could pose substantial risks to national security, as well as to personnel employed by agencies and facilities handling classified information. The congressmen seek clarification on the security protocols in place to safeguard such employees.
Media outlets suggest that at least 11 individuals have either died or gone missing since the year 2022. It is claimed that the vast majority of these people were engaged in research pertaining to nuclear physics and aerospace, with some having associations to UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) studies.
US President Donald Trump has previously committed to uncovering the reasons behind these occurrences.
