The developer using the handle krauseler brought forth Muxcard—a computing device virtually identical in dimensions and thinness to a standard credit card, measuring a mere 1 mm thick.
Despite its minuscule footprint, the Muxcard functions as a complete computer. It houses an ESP32-C3 chip, incorporating Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a motion sensor, NFC capability, and a tiny lithium-polymer battery. It also features a flexible 1.54-inch E-Ink display.
The primary hurdle was ensuring the computer’s durability, since it must withstand bending and pressure when carried in a wallet. To achieve this, the creator employed flexible circuit boards and strategically placed sensitive components on separate, isolated “islands.”
The schematics and firmware for this project have already been uploaded online by its creator.
