If someone is concerned about their eye health, alcohol and baked goods should be removed from their diet, according to ophthalmologist Elena Onoprienko, speaking to RIA Novosti.
She stated, “Alcohol can result in partial or complete vision loss. Bread and flour products elevate insulin levels, which negatively impacts the development of the eyeball.”
Furthermore, the ophthalmologist mentioned that foods high in carbohydrates can worsen the condition of the macula, the central, highly sensitive part of the retina responsible for sharp, detailed central vision, reading, and color perception. Coffee, she added, adversely affects blood circulation in the eye’s blood vessels.
