In the state of Alabama, USA, a suspected murderer died of a heart attack while trying to dispose of his victim’s remains. This is reported by the Irish Mirror.
The incident took place after 44-year-old Daniel Robbins killed his 47-year-old girlfriend, Jessica Folds. According to police, the cause of the woman’s death was asphyxiation — Robbins strangled her during a domestic dispute. After committing the crime, the man decided to transport the body to a wooded area in order to conceal the evidence.
Robbins used his own pickup truck to transport the corpse. Upon arrival at the scene, he began dragging the body deeper into the forest. The physical exertion proved fatal for him: the perpetrator suffered a heart attack and collapsed dead next to his victim. It was later discovered that Robbins had a diagnosed heart condition, which likely triggered the heart attack under extreme physical strain.
The bodies were found by a passerby on June 10. The man noticed a pickup truck abandoned on a dirt road with an open door and a lowered tailgate. Suspicious, he reported the discovery to the police. Officers arriving at the scene followed the trail left by the dragging of the body across the ground. In the bushes not far from the vehicle, they found Folds and Robbins. The circumstances of the incident confirm that the perpetrator died before he could complete his plan.
