Apple is set to distribute cash payments to iPhone users as part of a legal settlement. This was reported by MacRumors.
In May, the tech giant agreed to pay approximately $250 million to settle a class-action lawsuit tied to the delayed rollout of artificial intelligence (AI) features on the iPhone. According to the media outlet, all users who meet specific criteria can expect to receive a payout.
The authors reminded readers that in June 2024, Apple promised to launch its neural network on the iPhone. The release of AI features was delayed, leading U.S. users to sue the company over false advertising. Apple did not admit wrongdoing but agreed to provide compensation.
According to the journalists, the compensation per user could amount to up to $95 (7,000 rubles). Owners of iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 16, 16e, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max who reside in the U.S. and purchased their smartphone between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, are eligible for the payment.
The article states that the announced AI features on the iPhone are expected to arrive in the fall, alongside the release of iOS.
