For the first time since 1998, Argentina’s national football team has defeated England.
On July 15, the Argentines beat the English in the World Cup 2026 semifinal with a score of 2:1.
Their last victory over England had been in the 1998 World Cup round of 16, where the match ended 2:2 and Argentina won 4:3 on penalties.
Since 1998, the two teams have faced each other twice: in the 2002 World Cup, England defeated Argentina 1:0, and in 2005, the “Three Lions” won a friendly match 3:2.
