Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD recorded a third consecutive month of global sales growth in July, driven by an increase in overseas shipments.
The company sold 419,211 vehicles in July, a 21.8% increase year-on-year, according to Investing.com calculations.
Overseas shipments of passenger cars and pickup trucks more than doubled, reaching 179,841 units in July. Strong international demand helped offset BYD’s weakening position in the domestic Chinese market.
The Shenzhen-based EV maker has repeatedly announced plans to boost overseas sales to counter sluggish demand in local markets.
