Russian Para-athletes have begun competing at the Canoe Sprint World Championships, which are taking place in Poland.
Artur Chuprov won his preliminary heat in the VL1 200m event, advancing directly to the final.
Four other Russians reached the semi-finals: Roman Serebryakov finished third in the VL2 200m heat, while Alexander Ilyichev placed second in the KL1 200m. Alexandra Dupik and Zakhar Nazarenko finished fourth in their respective heats in the KL1 200m and VL3 200m events.
The World Championships in Poznań are being held from August 26 to 30.
