French health authorities reported an outbreak of Salmonella linked to pumpkin seeds. A total of 81 people were infected across several regions, with six hospitalized (all have since recovered). Investigations traced the source to a processing facility in southwestern France (Lot-et-Garonne department). Products were distributed mainly through the Grand Frais retail chain, and a recall was issued for both raw seeds and ready-to-eat mixes containing them. Authorities are still investigating to pinpoint the exact point of contamination in the production line.
