Samsung engaged in some serious trolling of Apple following the presentation of the iPhone Duo—the company’s first foldable smartphone.
Samsung Mobile US actively commented on the event via X, hinting that it took Apple far too long to enter the foldable device market. In one post, the company stated, “Nothing new here,” and reminded everyone that it has been releasing foldable smartphones in various form factors.
Duolingo joined in on the jokes, playing on the “Duo” name, prompting Samsung to claim that Apple had “copied” them as well.
Samsung Canada posted a video featuring the Galaxy Z Fold8, accompanied by the saying that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Samsung Philippines highlighted the company’s eight years of experience in the foldable smartphone sector; Samsung unveiled its first Galaxy Fold model back in 2019.
Early photos of the iPhone Duo in users’ hands revealed a significant detail: a crease is clearly visible on the large 7.6-inch internal screen. However, the beautiful screen animations are drawing praise online.
