In the UK, former PE teacher Bronwen James has been found guilty of sexually abusing several students at the Southampton school where she taught. The Daily Mail reported this on September 10.
James worked at Bitterne Park School until 2022. Investigators proved that she committed criminal acts against two 13-year-old female students. The teacher fully admitted her guilt regarding nine counts of offenses involving these girls.
Additionally, the court examined a separate incident involving a 16-year-old male student. He alleged that James sexually assaulted him at her home while they were watching television together. Initially, the teacher flatly denied the teenager’s accusations and tried to convince the court that the student had fabricated the charges. However, the student managed to provide the court with photographs taken inside the teacher’s home. She subsequently admitted to giving false testimony.
In total, the former teacher faced 13 counts of sexual offenses involving three children over a four-year period. James is awaiting sentencing on all charges; some carry a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.
On August 23, Metro reported on the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old student by a 26-year-old female tutor in the UK. Between May and June 2025, the tutor pressured the teenager into sexual activity during lessons, gave him money, bought him clothes, and demanded that their relationship be kept secret. The student shared details with friends, who informed the school administration. The tutor was arrested. The court found her guilty of sexual assault against a minor and sentenced her to four and a half years in prison.
