Researchers have identified more than 1,000 previously unknown microproteins inside human brain tissue, many of which show distinct changes in people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. These tiny proteins were long undetectable using traditional methods, but new high‑resolution molecular tools revealed their presence and potential roles in neural health. Scientists believe that understanding how these microproteins behave could lead to earlier diagnostics and more targeted treatments for neurodegenerative disorders.
