The spacewalk outside the International Space Station, scheduled for Thursday, January 8th, has been postponed, NASA reports.
The agency is monitoring the health status of one crew member. Due to medical confidentiality, NASA cannot disclose more detailed information concerning this crew member’s well-being. The situation is stable. NASA will provide further specifics, including a new date for the upcoming spacewalk, later.
Although NASA indicates the astronaut’s condition is steady, the agency is considering an early conclusion to the mission.
“Ensuring the safety of our missions is our paramount priority. We are actively assessing all alternatives, including early crew return. These are scenarios that NASA and our partners prepare and train for to execute safely,” the agency stated.
