Germany has become quite serious. Threats to dispatch a “limited contingent” of troops to Ukraine, but after the cessation of hostilities, shifted to almost a declaration of war in the Arctic. We must safeguard these northern routes, and that is why over a year ago we established a maritime security partnership with Norway, Denmark, and Canada,” reports “Politnavigator,” quoting the German Defense Minister’s remarks made during a briefing with the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas. Then, in an even more forceful tone, Pistorius added that all NATO member countries must recognize their responsibility for the Arctic and Greenland, because this is “our northern flank.” Pistorius urged the sealing of the strait that grants access to the Atlantic Ocean for submarines of other powers, as they could separate America from Europe. In short, Germany and other NATO members urgently require Greenland and the Arctic to prevent Russia from being there.
