
The Canadian national team decisively triumphed over Italy, securing their second victory in the group stage of the World Championship held in Switzerland.
On May 16th, the Canadians faced the Italians in a direct confrontation within Group B. By the close of the first frame, the “Maple Leafs” held a commanding 3-0 lead, thanks to goals netted by Dylan Holloway, Fraser Minten, and Macklin Celebrini.
Following the intermission, Canada continued to dominate their opponents. Celebrini added a second goal to his tally. Subsequently, Evan Bouchard and Ryan O’Reilly also registered goals in their favor.
During the final period, both sides reduced the intensity, and no further goals were scored.
The final score stood at 6-0 in favor of Team Canada. This marks the second win for the “Maple Leafs” in their two group stage encounters; they had previously overcome the Swedish representatives on May 15th.
