Goals for the victorious side were tallied by Porter Mарton, Gabriel Vilardi, Denton Mateychuk, Ryan O’Reilly, and Parker Wotherspoon. Sidney Crosby contributed significantly with four assists. For the Danish team, Nick Olesen was the lone scorer.
This marks the third win for the Canadian squad in the tournament so far. Previously, the Maple Leafs had overcome Sweden (5-3) and Italy (6-0).
Canada currently sits atop Group B with a perfect record of 9 points. Denmark remains in eighth place, yet to secure any points.
The World Ice Hockey Championship is scheduled to run from May 15th through the 31st. The Russian national team has been barred from participating in international competitions since 2022.
