Evgeny Malkin, the Russian forward, shared his thoughts on his fresh agreement with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
“The greatest city, the most amazing fans! I’m staying for another year. Bingo! I’m not sure about the exact salary figure offered. Perhaps I can add an extra zero to that amount. This is the happiest day of my life!” Malkin stated to the press service.
This agreement, which sets the player’s salary at $5.5 million, will remain in effect until the conclusion of the 2026/27 season.
Malkin has been a member of the Pittsburgh team since 2006. During his tenure, he has celebrated winning the Stanley Cup on three occasions – in 2009, 2016, and 2017.
In the 2025/26 season, the Russian forward accumulated 61 points (19 goals + 42 assists) over 56 games in the NHL regular championship. In the playoffs, he recorded 3 points (2 goals + 1 assist) in six matches. At the beginning of the Stanley Cup tournament, Pittsburgh was eliminated by Philadelphia in the first-round series, losing 2-4.
